Wow Has It Really Been A Week??

You know when you talk to someone you haven't talked to for a while and they ask "what's new?" and you say "oh same old same old".  If the is really true then why are we so busy, ahahaha.  I have to say I don't feel like there's much to talk about yet I've been BUSY!

I finished my first week on Nutrisystem and lost 5 lbs!  That's was exciting :-)))  There was only one thing so far I could not bring myself to eat, lol, and they sent me two of them.  Oh well, I can improvise.

I have so much catching up to do with the blogs I like to follow…

My head cold is finally gone but the darn cough just lingers.

Saturday Joe and I went to visit his cousin Linda and her husband.  We went out for dinner and then to the Newport Grand Slots.  I spent the entire evening losing and winning the same $20 ahahahaha.  I have not idea how those slot machines work but I like watching them.  I think I tried 15 different ones.

I added a new print to http://KathysDollsAndCrafts.etsy.com
And I have other new prints going up this week.  Also, I've had a few request to bring back the tote bags with the handles because they work well with the loom projects.  So they will be coming back in the same fabrics as the drawstring bags.
The bag with the handles is the same size as the large project bag.

Also, on Friday I decided to upgrade my phone.  So I switched from an IPhone 4S to the Samsung Galaxy S5.  This is my first droid and I love it!!!  It took a bit to figure out how I was going to get pictures from my phone to my MAC, lol.  But it worked out nicely.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Linda and Steve are coming up here for the night.  After dinner we're all going to the Cumberland County Fair.  I'm making spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread for dinner.  And YES I am having my Nutrisystem.  I will take pictures of course :-)

Well I guess I'd better finish up in the kitchen so I can sit back down and read some blogs……

New Beginnings and Feeling Better

Just to start this out I got the first cold of the changing season, yay me.  For the last three days I've done nothing but sit around like a rag.  I got up this morning and feel like I'm over the hump and feeling better.  Enough of that.

Pam messaged me a little over a week ago and asked me what I was doing.  Hmmmm when my sister starts out like that I know she's up to something, ahahahaha!  So we logged onto Skype and chatted for a long time about our weight woes.  She had just signed up for Nutrisystem and knew I'd given that some thought.  So it was only natural that I would have to do this with her, hehehe.
Pam has her's in drawers and I think I'm going to get those today so I can get rid of these box trays :-)
Yesterday was my first day and it went great!  The food is not bad and I didn't have to over think what I was going to eat.  I have a tendency to make this harder than it has to be, lol.

I did add some new project bags to my Etsy shop at the end of last week.  http://KathysDollsAndCrafts.etsy.com

I did have a couple of sheep bags up, but they were gone within 30 minutes.  Because the sheep are so popular I ordered more of this fabric, it's really cute.

I think tonight I'm going to work on my sock :-)

Day 2 Nutrisystem went great!!

Tuesday Evening Chatter

Good evening….ahahahaha I couldn't help that, sorry Pam ;-)  It's not that late but I'm tired and getting a little punchy…

Anyway on to my sock!  I am actually, really really going to do my first heel.  I put the waste yarn in this morning per Pam's instructions (which are really good as usual); now I have to finish the sock through the toe.  Then the scary part…..

Today I ordered a car magnet for my Jeep ;-) I just have to remember to take it off before going through the car wash, ahahahahaha.

It was a quiet day today around here.  I made a crochet hook wrap for Michelle with pockets to accommodate her Clover hooks.  I will be making others to fit the Crochet Dude hooks also.  I have one and the handle is rubbery so they are a tad more difficult to slide into fabric pockets.  We'll see…..

I seriously need to go back to work.  I feel like I'm getting boring.  Not bored…..boring, lol.  I think Thursday I may actually clean my house.  Ahahahahaha that didn't sound good.  It's not bad but I see things other people may not notice and I really need to vacuum and pick up some of my clutter….so I have room to make more.  Okay enough.

Have a good evening and maybe tomorrow I will have a more productive day…HA

Saturday - Crochet Hook Wraps

Good morning!!!  We have a solid and fast internet service at last! :-)))))))  I have some blog reading to catch up on while I have tea tonight.

Today we are driving to Fall River to visit Joe's cousin.  It's a 3-hour drive but we've been promising Amy and Joannah a trip there before the fall.  I have a "car snack" bag packed and we will take a small cooler for waters.  The MP3 players and headphones are in the bag and Amy's pillow and small blanket will be in the van before we leave.  She naps in the seat at the back of the van during most of the trip, yay.  It's a little work traveling with adult "children".  That's why I only do this once a year.

Next:  Last night I added a few crochet hook wraps to my Etsy shop.  Sometime through the night I got a message from Michelle asking about the size of the pockets.  She uses the Clover hooks with the padded ends which is something I didn't even think of when I made these wraps.  Thank you Michelle for bringing that to my attention.  So many crocheters are using hooks with "grips" and in fact I have a couple…..but totally zoned on it.  I will make hook wraps with a choice of pocket styles.  One to fit original size hooks and one to fit the larger padded hooks.  As you can see from the picture below the pockets are graduated and start out very small for the D hook.

Well that's all I have for now.  I am publishing this because I probably won't get back on today to add anything to it.  We won't be back till later tonight.

Enjoy the day!

I Was Wrong - No Internet

So here it is Thursday evening and I still have no connection. We were up and running for about 24 hours. After we realized the new modem wasn't the problem, we took it back and made an appointment to have cable internet installed Friday morning.  In the meantime, yesterday, we got the modem in the mail that Fairpoint sent. So Joe hooked it up with the help of their tech support and all was well for about two hours. So it is apparent that the issue is Fairpoint. Okay enough of that :-)

So here is the first crochet hook wrap which will be in my Etsy shop when I can get back on my computer. It has pockets for hook sizes D - P and two extra pockets mor a few more hooks.

Finally Have The Internet Fixed

Well I have to say it's been a long three days or almost three days with the internet and it appeared to be at the provider level.  After spending 45 minutes on the phone with the carrier we determined it was not  a carrier issue and bought a new modem.  We brought it home and started to get connected…..almost.  Apparently some information got crossed between one carrier and another as was suggest by my nephew Matthew.  So we got that fixed and still not internet.  So after several hours of farting around with this we finally have it up and running!  Thank you Matthew (my son) for being on the phone with the carrier supervisor and Matthew (my nephew) for the information Matthew (my son) had to force on them, ahahahahaha.  Then they said we needed to "buy" a static ID which we actually didn't need; and we didn't buy.  My aching head……all this because my modem did actually crap out.  It apparently has been going for a while.  BUT we're moving now.

I may as well have been in Siberia….okay, enough of that.

My sock yarn hat is coming along nicely.  I'm using and E hook and HDC so it's not taking forever.  I plan on added a ruffle brim.

These are a few of the new things up in my shop http://KathysDollsAndCrafts.etsy.com

I've been finding new blogs to read and follow and I'm really happy to see familiar faces!   I love all your blogs ;-)  I can't wait to see what's next!

Friday 08-29-2014

So yesterday morning I said I was going to blog last night.  I was until the internet had an earthquake!  It blinked in and out so fast we couldn't keep up.  So I said "hey, lets just use our phones" because they have their own service.  Wrong……..everything was out.  I didn't blog, check Ravelry, Etsy, email and one of my favorites Ebay!!!  So at 8:30pm we got in bed with out books and read.  Well he has a book and I have my nook.  YES we read, don't be smart ;-)

Someone in my neighborhood has a rooster.  Yup, a cock-a-doodle-doo rooster.  We can hear him but can't find him.  I can hear him in the afternoon, and evening but not in the morning, thankfully, lol

Anyway, I am working on some DPN wraps with a different kind of fabric.  They are coming out really nice and they cost a little less to make so I will be able to pass the savings on to people who buy them from my Etsy shop http://KathysDollsAndCrafts.etsy.com
Also, Maren R. and a few others have asked about wraps for crochet hooks.  I am working on those too and a few will be in the shop Sunday afternoon.  They hold hook sizes D thru Q.

You have all been wonderful, friendly and very supportive between my YouTube, G+, Etsy and now my blog……Thank you so much :-)
Wouldn't it be fun if one day we could plan a huge "meet & greet" somewhere?

Ok, I've fooled around here long enough….time to get back to the sewing machine :-)
